Tourist destination development through reviving and promotion the local identity

Local identity is an integral concept, which comprises landscape, culture, traditions, and inhabitants on a distinguished place. It serves as strategic tool for the development of local territories communities. In context tourist product, plays key role shaping imposing appearance certain destination. Under Dionysos project, within V-A Interreg Greece-Bulgaria 2017-2020 series studies were conducted, aim at revealing typical features, composing/performing Sakar-East Rhodopi region. To achieve this purpose, complex methodology was applied, including following methods: in-depth interview, questionnaire research observation. Based gained results from analysis, concrete suggestions, related to region, are derived. The provided information could serve business organizations in sector, well government non-government institutions. proposed tools correspond up-to-date trends consumer demand product. They prerequisite sustainable region its economic, social, cultural dimensions.
